After its grand India debut, the next-generation Renault Duster is now set to hit showrooms in March with official price announcement. The carmaker has confirmed that the SUV lineup will initially be available with the 100bhp, 1.0L turbo petrol and 163bhp, 1.3L turbo petrol engines options. The all-new strong hybrid powertrain will be introduced around the 2026 Diwali season.
2026 Renault Duster Hybrid Specs

The new Renault Duster hybrid features a 109bhp, 1.8L, 4-cylinder petrol engine, paired with a 49bhp electric motor, a 1.4kWh battery pack and a 20bhp hybrid starter generator. The combined output stands at 160PS of power and 172Nm of torque. Now that the powertrain details are out, let’s compare the Duster strong hybrid with its arch rivals – Maruti Grand Vitara, Maruti Victoris and Toyota Hyryder.

To begin with, the Maruti Grand Vitara, Maruti Victoris and Toyota Hyryder share the same 1.5L strong hybrid powertrain, consisting of a petrol engine, Toyota TNGA or Atkinson cycle and an electric motor. This setup delivers a combined power output of 116PS and a maximum torque of 141Nm. In comparison, the new Renault Duster strong hybrid is significantly more powerful than all these three hybrid SUVs.

The new Renault Duster is one of the well-equipped SUVs in its segment, and is certainly more premium than its predecessor. The centre stage is taken by a 10.1-inch touchscreen infotainment system with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, a 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster, a wireless phone charger, a panoramic sunroof, 6-way power and ventilated front seats, dual zone climate control and more.
The SUV gets six airbags as standard safety fitment along with the front and rear parking sensors, a 360 degree camera, tyre pressure monitoring system, electronic parking brake and Level 2 ADAS. With such a comprehensive safety package, Renault is aiming for a full 5-start safety rating for the new Duster.
