Recently, a test mule of the upcoming Mahindra Vision S was caught on camera, and it appears to be the mid-level variant. Similar to the concept, the spied prototype features an upright and boxy stance with circular headlamps, a grille with vertical stacks, and halogen turn indicators. It also gets an AdBlue refill cap positioned next to the diesel filler, confirming the presence of a BS6 Phase II compliant diesel engine. This time, we also get a glimpse of its interior, which reveals an automatic gearbox.
Ditching Mahindra’s new steering wheel with the illuminated logo, the spied test mule features a standard steering with mounted controls. One can also notice the fabric seats, a covered infotainment system, a digital driver’s display, rear seats with individual headrests and a 60:40 split ratio and a panoramic glass sunroof.

NU IQ Platform Explained
The new Mahindra Vision S will be based on the brand’s all-new NU IQ platform, supporting multiple powertrains and bodystyles. This architecture has been engineered to accommodate sizes ranging from sub-4 metre to around 4.5 meters SUVs along with a wheelbase of 2.65 metres. It offers an approach angle of 28 degrees, departure angle of 34.9 degrees and breakover angle of 28.2 degrees. This monocoque platform features a five-link rear suspension for offering enhance ride quality.
Petrol & Diesel Options
The Vision S SUV is likely to be offered with both petrol and diesel engine options. The petrol version might feature a 1.2L turbocharged motor, borrowed from the XUV 3XO. The diesel variant, on the other hand, could be offered with a 1.5L engine, sourced from the entry-level variants of the Thar.
What Could It Be?
The production-ready Mahindra Vision S is expected to be a lifestyle off-roader, positioned within the Mahindra Scorpio family. The model is likely to hit Indian roads sometime in 2027. Additionally, the Mahindra Vision X, Vision T and Vision SXT SUVs are also in the company’s product pipeline.
