Delhi Traffic Police intensify crackdown on tinted windows to improve road safety

New Delhi: In a bid to enhance road safety, Delhi Traffic Police has launched a week-long campaign from Nov 1 to 6 targeting vehicles with excessively tinted or black window films. Officers said such modifications violate the Motor Vehicles Act, reduce visibility and aid criminal activity. During the drive, 2,235 challans were issued. The campaign combined enforcement with public awareness, highlighting the risks tinted windows pose, particularly to women, children and vulnerable road users. Over the past year, nearly 20,232 challans have been issued for similar violations. “Tinted windows obstruct visibility and hinder law enforcement,” said Satya Vir Katara, additional CP Traffic (HQ), adding that sustained efforts aim to make Delhi’s roads safer for all.
