2026 is set to bring significant changes to the Indian automotive industry, right from robust growth of BEVs (battery electric vehicles) and hybrids models to the integration of AI, sustainable manufacturing practices and flexibility in supply chains. SUVs will continue to dominant the market, supported by steady demand for three-row family vehicles. In fact, there are five new 7-seater SUVs and MPVs slated to launch in the first quarter of 2026.

Nissan Gravite

Nissan’s rebadged version of the Renault Triber is set to unveil on 21st January, 2026. Called the Nissan Gravite, the three-row MPV will carry a different design language, while sharing its platform, powertrains and features with the Triber. This means, the MPV will come with the 72bhp, 1.0L naturally aspirated petrol engine.
MG Majestor

Showcased at the 2025 Bharat Mobility Show, the MG Majestor is now finally ready to hit Indian roads. The premium 7-seater SUV will go on sale with its official price announcement on 12th February, 2026. It’s essentially the sportier and updated version of the MG Gloster, and is expected to come with a 216bhp, 2.0L twin-turbo diesel engine and AWD configuration.
VinFast Limo Green

The VinFast Limo Green electric MPV will arrive at showrooms in February, 2026. However, its exact launch date is yet to be announced. Similar to the global model, the India-bound version is expected to come with a 60.13kWH battery pack paired with an electric motor. This setup offers a claimed range of 450km (NEDC) on a full charge.
Volkswagen Tayron R-Line

The Volkswagen Tayron R-Line has been revealed for India via official images and its market launch has been confirmed for the first quarter of 2026. Being a CKD unit, it’s expected to command a premium price. Powering the Tayron R-Line could be the Tiguan R-Line’s 2.0L turbo petrol engine, producing power worth 201bhp and 320Nm of torque.
Mahindra Scorpio N Facelift

Mahindra & Mahindra is expected to launch the updated Scorpio N in the first half of 2026. Details of the facelifted model are scanty at the moment. However, spy images reveal that the new 2026 Mahindra Scorpio facelift will receive a redesigned front grille, revised headlamps with LED DRL signature and new alloys. Feature upgrades will also be made inside the cabin, while the 2.0L turbo petrol and 2.2L turbo diesel engines will be carried forward from the current model.
