This year’s Independence Day witness a mega product blitz from Mahindra & Mahindra, which showcased the Vision S, Vision T, Vision X and Vision SXT concept SUVs. These concepts are based on the brand’s all-new NU IQ modular platform, and preview Mahindra’s future products.
The Mahindra Vision S and Vision X concepts preview the upcoming rivals of the Hyundai Creta and Tata Nexon, respectively. The Mahindra Vision T is a more rugged version of the popular Thar, while the Vision SXT previews the Thar-based pickup.
Mahindra Vision T – Next-Gen Mahindra Thar

The Vision T concept has been designed by Mahindra’s Mumbai and UK-based design studios and developed at Mahindra Research Valley. It appears to be a more rugged and mature version of the Thar.e concept that first broke cover in 2023. The concept might serve as the foundation for the next-generation Thar or Thar.e electric SUV.
Since it is underpinned by Mahindra’s new MU IQ monocoque modular architecture, which supports ICE, hybrid and electric powertrains, there is a strong possibility that the new-gen Thar will also come with electric or hybrid engine options.
Design Elements:
Upfront, the Mahindra Vision T features a split grille with horizontal slats, a massive bumper, a quarter glass area and bonnet latches. The headlamps have squarish LED unit along with the four individual LED DRLs, a pattern that is also followed on the taillamps. The front bumper with a tow hook, boxy stance, all-terrain tyres and a high ground clearance further enhance its rugged appearance. The concept also sports the hook points for roof carriers, luggage-mounting rack on the rear quarter glass area and exposed door hinges.
Interior & Features:
The Mahindra Vision T features a larger portrait-oriented touchscreen infotainment system, a free-standing digital instrument cluster, central console with some physical switchgear, a new three-spoke steering wheel, and a panoramic sunroof. The dashboard has a minimalistic design with black finish.
