The clock is ticking, and we have all been eagerly waiting for the launch of new Maruti SUV slated to hit Arena showrooms on September 2025. This will be Maruti’s second offering in the midsize SUV segment, positioned against rivals such as the Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos, Skoda Kushaq, Volkswagen Taigun, Honda Elevate and Toyota Hyryder.

So far, the upcoming new Maruti SUV is referred to as the ‘Maruti Escudo’, though it is expected to carry a new nameplate at the time of launch. While official details of the SUV will be announced at its launch, several spy images and leaked information have already created significant buzz around the product. - Level-2 ADAS
The upcoming Maruti SUV Escudo will be the brand’s first model to offer Level-2 ADAS (autonomous driver assistance system) suite.
2. Dolby Atmos Tech
It will also be the first Maruti Suzuki in India to come with the advanced Dolby Atmos audio technology as seen in Mahindra’s born-electric XEV 9e and BE 6 SUVs.
3. Powered Tailgate
The Escudo is reported to come with a powered tailgate – a feature missing on its arch rival – the Hyundai Creta.
4. 4WD System
Despite sharing its powertrains with the Grand Vitara, the new Maruti SUV Escudo will offer the advantage of a 4WD (four-wheel drive) system.
5. Strong Hybrid
This new Maruti SUV is expected to share the 103bhp, 1.5L petrol, 1.5L Atkinson cycle petrol hybrid and CNG engine options. The strong hybrid version will feature a Toyota-sourced 92bhp, 1.5L Atkinson cycle petrol engine and an electric motor producing power worth 79bhp.
6. Underbody CNG Kit
As per leaked information, the Maruti Escudo will be the brand’s first model feature an underbody CNG kit placement, freeing up boot space.
7. Longer Than Grand Vitara
Previous media reports suggest that the Escudo will be slightly longer than the Grand Vitara, with a bigger boot space as well.
8. Arena’s New Flagship SUV
Maruti Suzuki’s Arena dealership will receive a new flagship SUV in the form of the Escudo.
9. Sits B/W Brezza & Grand Vitara
The new Maruti SUV Escudo will be positioned above the Brezza and below the Grand Vitara in the company’s product lineup.
10. Price Prediction
Prices of the Maruti Escudo are expected to overlap with the Brezza and Grand Vitara. Its base variant to be priced nearly Rs 9 or 10 lakh, while the feature-loaded top-end trim might be offered at Rs 16 lakh (ex-showroom).
