The highly-popular Mahindra Thar 3-door off-road lifestyle SUV has received its first major upgrade since its second-generation launch in 2020. The facelifted lineup comes in two trims, AXT and LXT, and multiple variants, priced from Rs lakh – Rs lakh (ex-showroom). The new 2025 Mahindra Thar comes with subtle design changes, while the interior receives significant feature upgrades enhancing both comfort and safety levels.

Design Changes
The front fascia has been revised with a newly-designed grille and updated dual-tone bumper. The SUV continues to feature the signature circular headlamps with LED DRLs, front fig lamps, 18-inch alloy wheels and LED taillamps. The 2025 Mahindra Thar facelift comes in two new colour schemes – Battleship Grey and Tango Red – in addition to the existing shades – Deep Forest, Red Rage, Everest White, Stealth Black and Deep Grey.
Interior Upgrades
The cabin of the new Mahindra Thar 2025 offers more features than its pre-facelift version. It now comes with an all-new black theme dashboard with a larger 10.24-inch HD touchscreen infotainment system. The centre console has also been updated with a sliding armrest, and the instrument cluster now features Adventure stats Gen II.
The SUV also comes with a new steering wheel, rear AC vents, One-touch power windows on door trims, A-Pillar entry assist handle and, rear washer & wiper. Addressing customer feedback from the pre-facelift version, Mahindra has equipped the facelift with an A-Pillar entry assist handle and internally operated fuel lid.
On the safety front, the new 2025 Mahindra Thar facelift offers a rear-view camera along with ESP (electronic stability program) with rollover mitigation, hill hold & hill descent control, and a built-in Roll-cage with three-point seat belts.
Engine Options
The new Mahindra Thar 2025 continues with the same engine lineup as before – a 152bhp, 2.0L turbo petrol, a 119bhp, 1.5L turbo diesel and a 132bhp, 2.2L turbo diesel. The updated lineup is available with two gearbox options – a 6-speed manual and a 6-speed torque convertor automatic.
