Upcoming Tata 7-Seater SUVs

Tata Motors is gearing up to launch the petrol-powered Safari in the coming months, possibly around November 2025. The SUV will come with an all-new 1.5L turbocharged, direct-injection (TGDi) petrol engine, meeting BS6 Phase II emission standards. This motor pushes out a maximum power of 170bhp and 280Nm of torque. The 2025 Tata Safari petrol will continue to feature the three-row seating arrangement, existing feature list and familiar design language.

Mahindra XEV 7e

Upcoming Mahindra 7-Seater SUVs

Mahindra & Mahindra will introduce the XEV 7e (7-seater version of the XEV 9e coupe SUV) and the updated XUV700 in early 2026. The Mahindra XEV 7e will be the brand’s third born-electric SUV, and is likely to share its powertrains with the XEV 9e. The 2026 Mahindra XUV700 facelift is expected to receive minimal design changes and feature upgrades, while retaining the existing engine setup.

Upcoming Maruti 7-Seater SUV/MPV

Maruti Suzuki has confirmed a new premium SUV for India, which will measure over 4.5 metres. While its official details of the model are still under wraps, it’s likely to be the three-row version of the Grand Vitara and could come with three engine options. The Indo-Japanese automaker reportedly working on a subcompact MPV for India, which will be based on the Japan-spec Suzuki Spacia. It could be one of the first models to feature Maruti Suzuki’s in-house developed strong hybrid powertrain.

Upcoming Volkswagen 7-Seater SUV

Volkswagen India hasn’t yet confirmed launch timeline of the Tayron 7-seater SUV, but media reports suggest that the new VW three-row SUV might hit Indian roads by 2026. It could be offered with a 204bhp, 2.0L, 4-cylinder turbo petrol engine, and a 7-speed DCT automatic gearbox.

Upcoming Toyota 7-Seater SUVs

Toyota Kirloskar Motor is expected to showcase the new-generation Fortuner in 2026. The SUV is likely to come with significantly improved styling and more premium features including ADAS, vehicle stability management and more. The Japanese automaker might introduce the rebadged version of the upcoming Maruti three-row premium SUV in 2026.

Upcoming MG 7-Seater SUV

Showcased at the 2025 Bharat Mobility Show, the MG Majestor is essentially a more premium variant of the updated Gloster SUV. As of now, there is no official word on its launch timeline. However, it’s expected to arrive by early 2026.

Upcoming Nissan 7-Seater MPV

Nissan India is all set to launch a new subcompact MPV, based on the updated Renault Triber. The model will share its platform, features and engines with the Triber, but will have a distinct design language inspired by the Nissan Magnite.
