Citroen has introduced the updated Basalt coupe SUV, and now named the Basalt X available at a starting price of Rs 7.95 lakh. The top-end Max trim has received additional feature, and is priced at Rs 11.63 lakh (MT) and Rs 12.90 lakh (AT). The Plus trim is available within the range of Rs 9.42 lakh – Rs 12.07 lakh. All mentioned prices are ex-showroom.
Buyers can also opt for a 360-degree camera and dual-tone roof finish at an additional cost of Rs 25,000 and Rs 21,000, respectively. Bookings for the 2025 Citroen Basalt X are already underway at a token sum of Rs 11,000.

Exterior & Interior Updates:
On the exterior, the 2025 Citroen Basalt X gets a new ‘X’ emblem on the tailgate; however, the overall design and dimensions remain unchanged. Inside, the Basalt X Max trim features a new tan-and-black upholstery, a leatherette-wrapped dashboard with slanted pattern imprints, and bronze-coloured trim pieces.
Feature Highlights:
The major highlight of the update is the introduction of CARA – the brand’s new in-car assistant. It supports functions such as traffic and route optimization, real-time flight status tracking, calling and SOS, multimedia support, vehicle health status updates, and more. However, this feature is offered only on the automatic variants, and limited to initial bookings.
Other features on offer are an optional 360-degree camera, an auto dimming IRVM, white ambient lighting, cruise control, ventilated seats, keyless entry, push button start/stop and LED fog lamps.
Engine Options:
Powering the 2025 Citroen Basalt X Max is the same 1.2L, 3-cylinder turbocharged petrol engine producing a maximum power of 110bhp. The entry-level trims use a 1.2L, 3-cylinder petrol engine, which is good enough for 82bhp. The powerful turbo-petrol engine comes with two gearbox options – a 6-speed manual and a 6-speed torque convertor automatic. The 82bhp petrol engine is available with a 5-speed manual transmission.
