The midsize SUV segment will be action-packed in 2026 as several new models ready to hit showrooms including the comeback of iconic nameplates, all-new products and facelifts. Skoda Auto India and Volkswagen will also give significant midlife updates to their popular Kushaq and Taigun SUVs. Both models are currently undergoing testing and have been spotted multiple times in heavy to semi-camouflage, revealing interesting details.

Level-2 ADAS & 360° Camera
The major highlight 2026 Skoda Kushaq and Volkswagen Taigun facelifts will be the addition of Level 2 autonomous driver assistance system (ADAS). This safety upgrade will bring both SUVs in line with rivals such as Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos, Tata Curvv, Honda Elevate and MG Astor. The updated models will also receive a 360-degree camera.

2026 Skoda Kushaq Facelift – What to Expect?
Spy images reveal that the updated Kushaq will feature redesigned headlamps, a front grille with slightly slimmer vertical slats and lower-set fog lamp clusters. The connected DRL setup could be borrowed from the new-gen Skoda Kodiaq. Other design highlights will include a more squared-off air dams, new blacked-out alloy wheels, slimmer taillamps and an LED strip on the tailgate. Along with the ADAS, the 2026 Skoda Kushaq facelift might receive new trims and upholstery.
2026 Volkswagen Taigun Facelift – What to Expect?
The 2026 Volkswagen Taigun facelift is likely to feature new front and rear bumpers and revised headlamps and taillamps, while the sheet metal will remain unchanged. Similar to the updated Kushaq, the Volkswagen SUV might come with new trim pieces and upholstery, in addition to the ADAS and 360-degree camera.

Same Engines – A New Gearbox?
The new Skoda Kushaq and Volkswagen Taigun will continue to be offered with the 1.0L turbo petrol (115bhp/178Nm) and 1.5L turbo petrol (150bhp/250Nm) engine options. A manual gearbox will retain standard, while the 7-speed DCT gearbox will be available with the larger 1.5L petrol engine only. Reports suggest that the 6-speed torque convertor automatic gearbox, currently available with a 1.0L petrol engine, could be replaced with a new 8-speed unit.
