Nissan’s upcoming midsize SUV for India has been partially revealed via multiple official images. Called the Nissan Tekton, the model is based on the next-gen Renault Duster and shares design elements with the larger Nissan Patrol SUV. This will be Nissan’s answer to the popular compact SUVs such as Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos, Maruti Grand Vitara, the newly-launched Maruti Victoris, Toyota Hyryder, Honda Elevate, Skoda Kushaq and Volkswagen Taigun.
Official Debut Details
The all-new Nissan Tekton SUV will make its official debut in the first half of 2026. Production will take place at Renault-Nissan’s Chennai-based manufacturing facility, which will also serve as the export hub for select global markets.

Patrol-Inspired Design
According to the carmaker, the name ‘Tekton’ is derived from Greek, meaning “craftsman” or “architect”. Its design and styling draw heavily inspired from the rugged globally sold Nissan Patrol SUV.
Upfront, the SUV features a sleek grille with two chrome strips and the signature Nissan logo in the centre, a sculpted bonnet with ‘Tekton’ lettering, dual-tone black and silver bumpers and distinctive silver air intake-like design elements on the front doors. The C-shaped elements, connected LED headlamps and taillamps and prominent wheel arches with multi-spoke alloy wheels, roof rails, rear door-mounted grab handle and a roof-mounted rear spoiler further enhance its modern appearance.

Interior Details
Interior details are yet to be revealed, but Nissan has teased a triple-tone dashboard with soft-touch materials and a contrast copper-colour stirp running from the infotainment system to the side AC vents.
Petrol-Only SUV
The Nissan Tekton is likely to share its platform and powertrains with the new-gen Renault Duster, which is also due in early 2026. The SUV is expected to be offered with petrol engines only, including a 1.3L petrol and a 1.2L mild hybrid petrol unit.

More details about the Nissan Tekton SUV are likely to surface in the coming months. Stay tuned for the latest updates and official announcements.
