TVS Motor Company is all set to launch an all-new entry-level electric scooter on August 28, 2025. While the official teaser reveals its silhouette, it doesn’t confirm the name or details of the upcoming EV. According to reports, the new TVS electric scooter will be called Orbiter and positioned below the iQube. It’s expected to be a basic electric urban commuter, featuring a hub-mounted motor. Here’s what more we can expect from the forthcoming TVS Orbiter electric scooter.
Battery and Motor:
The official specifications of the TVS Orbiter electric scooter will be announced at its launch. It’s expected to feature a smaller battery pack and a less powerful electric motor compared to the iQube. The latter currently comes with 2.2kWh, a 3.1kWh, a 3.5kWh and 5.3kWh battery pack options, depending on the variant. While the base variant with the smallest battery pack offers a claimed range of 94km, the top-end ST 5.3kWh variant delivers an IDC range of 212km on a single charge.
The Orbiter’s hub-mounted motor will be sourced from Bosch. When it comes to features, the new TVS electric scooter is likely to offer very basic equipment such as an LCD console with limited connectivity features.
Most affordable TVS electric scooter
The new TVS Orbiter electric scooter is likely to become the most affordable EV from the homegrown two-wheeler maker. Currently, the TVS iQube is available at a starting price of Rs 1.11 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi). The company’s BaaS (Battery-as-a-Service) rental program will further help achieve competitive pricing, and make the scooter more accessible in tier II and tier III cities.
Once launched, the new affordable TVS electric scooter will take on the newly-launched Hero Vida VX2 along with the lower variants of the Ola S1X and Bajaj Chetak.
