Nissan India has released a new teaser video, hinting at the arrival of an upcoming model. The teaser video shows “a moonless night at 4,500 meters above sea level and a place made to watch galaxies.” It further adds “Now watch something else”, and ends with “stay tuned.” While the carmaker hasn’t yet revealed name and details of the product, its expected to be a 7-seater family car based on the Renault Triber.
To remember, Nissan had earlier confirmed the launch of a new compact MPV for India, which will sharing platform, features and engines with the Triber. The French automaker recently launched the 2025 Renault Triber with significant feature upgrades and subtle design changes. New Nissan MPV – What to Expect?
Design & Dimensions:
Nissan’s new subcompact MPV was teased earlier alongside a new midsize SUV, which will be based on the third-generation Renault Duster. The official teaser revealed the front fascia of MPV, featuring Nissan’s signature grille, sporty bumper with a silver wraparound treatment, new LED DRLs, functional roof rails and newly-designed alloy wheels.
While the 7-seater family car will look different from the Triber, both models are expected to have identical dimensions. Renault’s MPV measures 3,990mm in length, 1,739mm in width and 1,643mm in height.
Turbo Power:
As mentioned above, Nissan’s new 7-seater will borrow its powertrain from the Renault Triber. The latter comes with a 1.0L, 3-cylinder, naturally aspirated petrol engine, pushing out a maximum power of 71bhp and 96Nm of torque. Transmission choices include a 5-speed manual and a 5-speed AMT unit.
Price Expectations:
As far as pricing is concerned, this family car will be one of the most affordable 7-seaters in India. It’s prices are likely to start around Rs 6.5 lakh. The new Renault Triber is currently available in the price range of Rs 6.30 lakh – Rs 9.17 lakh (all, ex-showroom).
