Must Read

Nissan’s all-new upcoming C-segment SUV will make its global debut on October 7, 2025. Nissan’s Senior VP of Global Design, Alfonso Albaisa, and Senior Design Director, Ken Lee will unveil the “design vision” of the new midsize. The official name and details of the model are yet to be revealed. However, rumour suggest that its production version could be named ‘Nissan Kait’. In India, the new Nissan midsize SUV will go on sale in early 2026. It will be positioned against the Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos, Maruti Victoris and other models in the segment.

New Nissan Midsize SUV – What We Know So Far?

The upcoming C-SUV from Nissan is likely to be based on the third-generation Renault Duster, which is due for early 2026. Both models will share platform, powertrains, features and components. However, the Nissan midsize SUV will feature an entirely new design language.

The official teaser confirms that the compact SUV will carry Nissan’s signature grille with two thin chrome stripes running across its length. It will feature connected L-shaped LED DRLs.

As per media reports, the new Nissan midsize SUV might have more features on offer than its donor sibling – the Duster. The feature kit is likely to include a large touchscreen infotainment system, a 7-inch digital instrument cluster, multiple drive modes, automatic climate control, rear AC vents, a 360-degree camera and more.

The engine setup could also be borrowed from the new Renault Duster, which might come with multiple petrol engine options. Globally, the new Duster is available with a 160bhp, 1.3L petrol and a 130bhp, 1.2L mild hybrid petrol engine. Buyers will have both manual and automatic gearboxes on offer. The 4X4 drivetrain system could be reserved for the higher trims.

Similar to the new Duster, the new Nissan midsize SUV will receive a hybrid variant at a later stage. The carmaker might also consider offering a CNG version, which could potentially be available as a retrofit option.
