The much-awaited new Maruti midsize SUV is all set to break cover on September 3, 2025 with its official price announcement. Bookings for the model are also expected to commence from the same day. It will be Maruti’s second offering to rival the segment leader – the Hyundai Creta. The official name and details of this new Maruti SUV will be revealed at its launch. For now, it’s widely referred to as the ‘Maruti Escudo’.

The new Maruti midsize SUV will be positioned as the new flagship Arena SUV, bridging the gap between the Brezza and Grand Vitara in the company’s product lineup. This means, its prices will overlap with those of its two siblings.

Being an Arena offering, the Maruti Escudo is expected to be priced slightly lower than the Grand Vitara. The entry-level variant of the Escudo is likely to cost around Rs 10 lakh or Rs 10.50 lakh, while the fully-loaded trim with hybrid powertrain is estimated to be priced close to Rs 19 lakh.

The official variant and feature details of the Maruti Escudo will be revealed in just a couple of days. According to media reports, it will be the first Maruti Suzuki model to come with Level-2 ADAS (autonomous driver assistance system) and Dolby Atmos technology. The SUV is also expected to offer a powered tailgate, ventilated seats, a panoramic sunroof, and more.

The new Maruti Escudo is likely to source the 103bhp, 1.5L naturally aspirated petrol, 116bhp, petrol hybrid and 88bhp CNG powertrains from the Grand Vitara. Interestingly, it’s reported to be the first Maruti Suzuki to feature an underbody CNG tank, which will free up the boot space. Transmission choices will include both manual and automatic units.
