Mahindra & Mahindra recently announced its Q1 FY2026 results, and continues to gain profits as SUV sales surge. While the carmaker’s profit increased by 24 percent to Rs 4,376 crore, the automobile sector’s profit margins remained flat at nearly 10 percent, excluding the electric contract manufacturing services provided to its EV subsidiary.
While announcing the quarterly results, the homegrown automaker confirmed its plan to launch two all-new electric SUVs in Q1 of 2026, along with the new lower battery pack variants of the XEV 9e and BE6 born-electric SUVs, multiple facelifts and updated variants. While Mahindra remained tight lipped about the upcoming new electric SUVs, one of them is expected to be the Mahindra XEV 7e.
7-Seater Mahindra XEV 7e – A New Family EV
Mahindra XEV 7e will be the electric iteration of the XUV700, sharing several design elements, features and powertrains with the XEV 9e. It will essentially be a 7-seater version of the XEV 9e, aimed at family car buyers. Within the company’s EV product portfolio, this new SUV will be positioned above the XEV 9e and expected to come at a premium of Rs 2 lakh – Rs 2.50 lakh over the XEV 9e. The latter one is currently priced from Rs 21.90 lakh to Rs 30.50 lakh (ex-showroom).
What Could Be the Second EV?
The second upcoming Mahindra electric SUV could be one of the models set to unveil in their concepts form at this year’s Independence Day or it could be the Mahindra XUV 3XO EV which has been on test for a quite sometime. Just so you know, Mahindra & Mahindra is slated to unveil four new concept SUVs on 15th August, 2025, namely, Vision S, Vision T, Vision SX and Vision SXT.
Furthermore, the Mumbai-based SUV maker has confirmed the new-generation Bolero and Bolero EV for 2026. So, it wouldn’t be surprising if the Mahindra Bolero EV hits showrooms in Q1, 2026.
