The KTM 160 Duke has finally been introduced in India as the successor to the Duke 125. Priced at Rs 1,84,998 (ex-showroom), the bike takes directly on the Yamaha MT-15, which is available at Rs 1.69 lakh for the Standard variant and Rs 1.80 lakh for the DLX variant. It’s the most affordable KTM bike in India and the most powerful bike in the 160cc segment. Bookings for the KTM Duke 160 are now open across all authorized KTM dealerships as well as online.

Starting with its engine. The KTM 160 Duke derives power from a 164.2cc, single-cylinder, liquid-cooled engine, producing a maximum power of 19bhp at 9,500rpm and 15.5Nm of torque at 7,500rpm. Compared to the arch rival – Yamaha MT-15, the Duke 160 is slightly more power and torquier. KTM claims that it delivers one of the best power-to-weight ratios in its category.

Based on the split trellis frame, the KTM Duke 160 features a WP Apex front fork and monoshock suspension. The braking power comes from a 320mm front disc and 230mm rear disc brakes along with a switchable rear ABS. The new Duke has been assembled with the 17-inch alloy wheels shod with a 110-section front and a 140-section rear tyre. These alloys are lighter than the Duke 200. The bike offers a seat height of 815mm and a ground clearance of 174mm. It carriers a kerb weight of 147kg, and has a fuel tank capacity of 10.1-litres.
Features
The KTM 160 Duke comes with a 5-inch LCD display, supporting turn-by-turn navigation, smartphone connectivity, call/SMS alerts and music controls. The bike offers all LED lighting, and its headlight seems inspired by the 390 Duke. The KTM Duke 160 is being offered in three colour options – Silver Matte, Orange and Blue.
