The Kia Carens Clavis EV has recently been launched in India to challenge the BYD eMax7. The model lineup is being offered in four trims – HTK+, HTX, HTX Long-Range and HTX+ Long-Range – priced at Rs 17.99 lakh, Rs 20.49 lakh, Rs 22.49 lakh and Rs 24.49 lakh, respectively. Currently, all these variants are available only with a 7-seat configuration.

Soon, the electric MPV will receive a new 6-seater version, based on the top-end HTX+ ER variant. It will feature captain seats in the second row with slide, recline and tumble functions. Being based on the Long-Range or Extended-Range HTX+ trim, the Kia Carens Clavis EV 6-seater will come with a larger 51.4kWh battery pack, paired with a single electric motor and FWD (front wheel drive) system. This setup delivers a maximum power of 169bhp and 255Nm of torque. It offers a claimed range of 490km on a full charge.

Smaller Battery Option

The Carens Clavis EV is also available with a 42kWh battery pack, promising an ARAI-certified range of 404km on a single charge. This battery is paired to a 135bhp electric motor. Both batteries are available with two AC charging options – 7.4kW and 11kW. With a 11kW charge, the 42kWh and 51.4kWh take 4 hours and 4 hours 45 minutes to charge from 10 to 100 percent. Kia is offering an 8-year or 1,60,000km warranty on the electric MPV.

Feature-Loaded:

No changes will be made to its design and interior. The Kia Carens Clavis EV 6-seater will be packed with all premium features available on its 7-seater counterpart including ventilated front seats, 4-way powered driver’s seat, rear door spot lamps with Kia logo projection, first row passenger seat sliding lever, 8-speaker Bose sound system, V2L (vehicle to load) functionality, Level 2 ADAS with 20 features, cabin air purifier, panoramic sunroof, anti-glare IRVM, dual-tone leatherette-wrapped steering wheel and more.
