The facelifted Tata Altroz has been tested under the Bharat NCAP (New Car Assessment Program) crash tests, and achieved a full 5-star safety rating. The hatchback scored 29.65 points out of 32 in adult occupant protection and 44.90 points out of 49 in child occupant protection. The safety rating applies to all variants, packed with petrol, diesel and CNG models.

The standard safety kit of the updated Altroz includes airbags, electronic stability control, ABS (anti-lock braking system) and three-point seatbelts for all passengers. Features such as tyre pressure monitoring system, a blind spot monitor and a 360-degree camera are reserved for the higher trims.
Tata Altroz Adult Occupant Protection
In offset deformable barrier test, the 2025 Tata Altroz scored 15.55 out of a maximum 16 points. It offered ‘Good’ protection to the driver’s head, neck, chest and feet, while leg protection was rated ‘Adequate’. The results showed ‘Good’ protection for the co-driver and ‘Adequate’ for the right tibia.
In the side movable deformable barrier test, the hatch achieved 14.11 points out of 16, offering ‘Marginal’ protection for driver’s chest and ‘Adequate’ for the abdomen. However, head and pelvis protection were rated as ‘Good’. In the side pole impact test, it provided ‘Good’ protection to all body regions of the driver.
Tata Altroz Child Occupant Protection
The overall score for Dynamic, Child restrain system (CRS) installation and vehicle assessment stood at 23.90 out of 24 points, 12 out of 12 points and 9 out of 13 points, respectively. The 18-month-old and the 3-year-old child dummies, placed rearward-facing in the front passenger seat secured by Isofix anchorages and a support let, were found to be fully protected.

The 2025 Tata Altroz is currently available with three engine options – an 86bhp, 1.2L petrol, a 90bhp, 1.5L diesel and a 74bhp, 1.2L CNG. A 5-sped manual gearbox is standard across the lineup. The petrol version also comes with the 5-speed AMT and 6-speed DCT automatic gearbox options.
