India’s top-selling family car (MPV), the Maruti Ertiga will soon receive a major dimensional upgrade. According to a fresh media report, the overall length of the MPV will be increased from 4.39 metres to 4.43 metres. While the wheelbase will remain unchanged at 2.74 metre, the boot space will grow bigger. Since the Ertiga Tour M fleet variant has already been offered with the bigger dimensions, it was kind of expected that Maruti will eventually standardise them across the regular version as well.

Furthermore, the 2025 Maruti Ertiga will receive tyre pressure monitoring system (TPMS) as standard safety fitment along with slightly repositioned AC vents for the second row of seats. Recently, the MPV lineup was also updated with the standard six airbags, which led to a minor price hike. Currently, the Ertiga is available in 9 variants, priced between Rs 9.11 lakh – Rs 13.40 lakh (all, ex-showroom).

The updated Maruti Ertiga is likely to use the existing 1.5L K-Series petrol engine, pushing out a maximum power of 102bhp and 136Nm of torque. The CNG variant offers a claimed power of 87bhp and 121.5Nm of torque. A 5-speed manual gearbox comes as standard, while select petrol variants also get a 6-speed automatic transmission.
New Maruti Midsize SUV Launching On 3rd Sep
In other updates, Maruti Suzuki is gearing up to launch a new Arena-exclusive midsize SUV to challenge the Hyundai Creta and Kia Seltos. Positioned between the Brezza and Grand Vitara, this new model will go on sale on September 3, 2025. Its official name and details are yet to be revealed; however, the new Maruti SUV is expected to be named ‘Escudo’ or ‘Victoris’.
