NEW DELHI: A heartwarming clip of an Irish man attempting to speak Hindi to thank his Indian girlfriend’s mother for a Diwali gift has won millions of hearts online. The video, shared by Sanskruti Darren on Instagram with the caption, “Some moments don’t need translation.” The video opens with a text insert that reads, “My Irish boyfriend thanking my Indian mom in Hindi for Diwali parcel,” shows the man greeting his partner’s mother with a cheerful, “Hello, kaise hai aap?” (How are you?), adding, “Aapka parcel mila, very sundar” (I received your parcel, it is beautiful). He goes on to specifically thank her for sending traditional Diwali treats like anarsa and laddoo. Switching to English, he adds that the gifts were “very good,” before ending the video with a warm “Shukriya” (Thank you) and “Good night.”
