Must Read

If you’re planning to upgrade to 7-seater SUV or MPV, here’re three models worth waiting for a few more months. Mahindra, Tata and Nissan are gearing up to launch the XEV 7e electric SUV, Safari with a petrol engine and a new sub-4 metre MPV, respectively. All these models are slated to reach showrooms in early 2026.

Upcoming 7-Seater SUVs/MPVs In Early 2026

Mahindra XEV 7e The XEV 7e will essentially be the 7-seater version of the XEV 9e coupe SUV, ready to debut in late 2025. Its market launch is likely to happen in the first quarter of 2026. This family SUV will share its platform and powertrains with the XEV 9e. This means it will come with the 59kWh battery with a 286bhp motor and 79kWh LFP battery with a 231bhp motor options. Most of its features and design elements will also be similar to the XEV 9e.

Tata Safari Petrol Tata has confirmed the launch of the Harrier and Safari petrol SUVs for early 2026. Both models will feature a new 1.5L turbocharged, direct-injection (TGDi) petrol engine, generating power worth 170bhp and 280Nm of torque. This new engine complies with BS6 Phase II emission standards and is capable of running on an E20 ethanol petrol mix fuel.

Nissan Subcompact MPV Nissan’s all-new subcompact MPV will hit Indian roads in early 2026. It will be based on the Renault Triber, sharing platform, powertrains and features with it. However, its design language will be completely different. Similar to the Triber, the new Nissan MPV is likely to measure 3,990mm in length, 1,739mm in width and 1,643mm in height. It’s expected to come with the 1.0L, 3-cylinder naturally aspirated petrol engine, producing a maximum power of 72bhp and 96Nm of torque. Both manual and automatic gearboxes will be on offer.
