If you’re planning to buy a compact SUV, but have been waiting for something new to arrive next year, then you might be just right. Hyundai and Kia are planning to launch a total of four models in this segment, and these won’t be just facelifts, but all-new models with advanced tech and features, new design language and multiple engine options. Let’s take a closer look at the upcoming Hyundai and Kia compact SUVs, which could be worth the wait.
New-Gen Hyundai Venue
Hyundai Motor India has confirmed that the all-new Venue will now go on sale in November 2025, cancelling its previously planned launch on 24th October. The compact SUV is likely to receive noticeable changes both inside and out; however, engine options are expected to remain intact. Spy images reveal that the 2025 Hyundai Venue will feature a dual screen setup borrowed from the Creta. Its ADAS suite could be upgraded to Level-2. The new Venue might also get a 360-degree camera and ventilated front seats.
Hyundai Bayon
The Hyundai Bayon, already on sale in select global markets, will make its way to India by mid-2026. Unlike the global-spec model, which measures above 4 metres in length, the India-spec Bayon is likely to be a sub-4 metre SUV. As of now, there is no official information about the product. If reports are to be believed, the Hyundai Bayon will feature an all-new 1.2L turbo petrol engine, developed locally in India. This powertrain will be compatible to hybrid system. The compact crossover could also be offered with a 1.0L turbo petrol engine.
Hyundai Inster EV
Hyundai is expected to launch the Inster-EV based compact electric SUV in the second half of 2026. This new model will be positioned against the Tata Punch EV. In global markets, the Hyundai Inster EV is available with the Standard 42kWh and Long-Range 49kWh battery options, delivering a claimed WLTP range of 300km and 355km, respectively. In terms of features, this new compact electric SUV will offer dual 10.25-inch displays, a 360-degree camera with blind spot monitoring system, auto climate control, ADAS and more.
Kia Syros EV
Kia has started testing the Syros EV in India, with a market launch expected in 2026. The latest spy images reveal that the EV will retain the original stance and design language. It might feature a sealed-off grille, a charging port at the front and ‘EV’ badging. Inside, the electric SUV might get new trims and upholstery along with some EV-specific software updates for instrument cluster. Its powertrain setup could be borrowed from the Hyundai Inster EV.
