With its modern design, premium interior and multi-powertrains, the Hyundai Creta has been dominating the midsize SUV segment since its launch. The competition in this space is already intense with models such as the Maruti Grand Vitara, Kia Seltos, Skoda Kushaq, Volkswagen Taigun, Toyota Hyryder and the newly-launched Maruti Victoris. However, things are set to get tougher for the Creta with the arrival of three more SUVs – the new-gen Tata Sierra, Renault Duster and Nissan’s Duster-based SUV.

Launch Timelines:
The all-new Sierra will first be rolled out with an electric powertrain in the next couple of months, while its ICE version will arrive in early 2026. The third-generation Renault Duster and Nissan’s new midsize SUV are also slated to hit showrooms in the first half of 2026.

Key Details:
The all-new Tata Sierra EV could be offered with 65kWh and 75kWh battery pack options, borrowed from the Harrier EV. The ICE-powered version is likely to feature a 1.5L naturally aspirated petrol and a 2.0L diesel engine. The SUV is expected to come with several premium features such as Level 2 ADAS, a 360-degree camera, triple screen setup, HUD, a panoramic sunroof, ventilated and powered front seats, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, built-in dashcam and more.
The next-gen Renault Duster will feature the brand’s new design language and offer a more upmarket interior than its predecessor. Renault will adopt multi-powertrain strategy for the new model, offering it with petrol, hybrid and CNG engine options. The SUV will initially be introduced with 1.0L turbo or 1.3L turbo petrol engine options, while the hybrid version will arrive at a later stage.
Soon after the all-new Duster, Nissan will launch its own version of the SUV with a different design language. However, it will share its platform, powertrains, interior and features with its Renault sibling. Spy images reveal it will feature an upright stance, a redesigned bumper with C-shpaed elements, a pronounced grille, 5-spoke alloys, a roof spoiler, rectangular taillights and a flat tailgate.
