The first half of 2026 will be action-packed for auto enthusiasts and buyers as several new products are in the pipeline including EVs, hybrids, facelifts and new-gen SUVs. Carmakers such as Maruti Suzuki, Tata, Mahindra, Renault, Kia, Nissan, Skoda and Volkswagen altogether are set to introduce nearly 12 cars and SUVs, which are worth waiting for. - India’s largest passenger carmaker, Maruti Suzuki has confirmed that the e Vitara electric SUV will go on sale by March 2026. The EV will come with two battery pack options, and offer a range of over 500km. The Maruti e Vitara will soon be followed by the Fronx hybrid, which was recently caught testing with LiDAR sensors.
- The Tata Harrier and Safari petrol will debut with an all-new 1.5L petrol engine in the first quarter of 2026. While the all-new Tata Sierra EV launch is likely to happen in October or November 2025, its ICE version is scheduled to arrive early next year. The Sierra is expected to use the new 1.5L naturally aspirated petrol and 2.0L diesel engines.
- Mahindra’s third born-electric SUV – the XEV 7e – is expected to debut in late 2025, followed by its launch in early 2026. It will be a 7-seater version of the XEV 9e. The carmaker will also give a midlife update to the popular XUV700 SUV around the same time.
- The third-generation Renault Duster will make its way to India with modern design, premium interior and multiple powertrains. Initially, the SUV will be offered with petrol engines, while a hybrid version will be introduced nearly 12 months later.
- While there is no official word from Kia India, reports suggest that the second-generation Seltos might be launched in early 2026. However, the Seltos hybrid will arrive after new-gen Hyundai Creta hybrid in 2027.
- Skoda and Volkswagen are currently testing the updated Kushaq and Taigun SUVs, which are slated to launch in the first half of 2026. Both SUV are expected to come with Level-2 ADAS suite and a 360-degree camera.
- Nissan India has confirmed a sub-4 metre MPV for early 2025. It will be based on the Renault Triber, sharing platform, powertrains and features. However, its design language will be completely different from the Triber.
